Я хочу видеть его свободным в выборе вернуться. - Ты никогда не увидишь его, - сказали те, что были рядом, но потом ушли, - сочные обильные пастбища - это не совсем то, что располагается сразу за твоими воротами. Нужно время, чтобы найти их. Дорога к ним лежит через опасные горные тропы, мимо логова диких зверей и вдоль больших дорог, где промышляет зло. Ты никогда не увидишь свое стадо идущим обратно. Послушай нас, верни его назад в стойло. Пусть там не так много еды как на пастбище и она не так сежа, как те травы, что пропитаны росой и овеяны ветром. Но зато ты точно будешь знать, что сумел сохранить свое стадо. - Но разве вы не видите, что оно больно. Оно исхудало от однообразия пищи и отсутствия свежего ветра. Оно перестало рождать, и самки понуро стоят в истоптанном стойле. Мое стадо забыло запах сочной травы. А я не могу в достаточном количестве принести им то, что они способны найти сами.
Великий инстинкт подскажет им, куда надо идти. Я не приставлю к ним пастуха, ибо он все время будет напоминать им о том, что пора возвращаться. Я пошлю им вслед утреннюю звезду, чтобы они не забыли вернуться.
